Directions

Follow Interstate 93 North into New Hampshire...this is a toll road, $0.75 for regular cars just outside of Concord. Continue on I-93. After you pass through Franconia Notch, take Exit 38 for Sugar Hill. Turn left off the highway and after you have gone under the overpass, take an immediate right onto Route 18. Follow Route 18 less than a mile and then take a left onto Route 117. Follow 117 over Sugar Hill all the way to the end (about seven miles or so). When you reach the intersection with Route 302, turn right onto 302 for about 1/4 of a mile. Take a left on Lyman Road and follow it for about 3 miles. After you pass Quebec Road (on your left), a big open field (just after Quebec Road), and a small, old graveyard, you will come down a hill, at the base of the hill is a small, fork/turn, which is Ogontz Road, follow it into camp and you are there! If you see the Tinkerville General Store or Dodge Pond, you have gone to far on Lyman Road and have missed the fork/turn.
Follow Interstate 95 North through Rhode Island and into Massachusetts. Stay on I-95 N as it joins with Route 128 (the circumferenetial route around Boston) and follow to its intersection with Interstate 93 North at Exit 37. Follow Interstate 91 North through Massachusetts and into Vermont. Follow into the northern part of the state (you will be snaking the Connecticut River on and off) until you reach Exit 17. Go right off the Exit onto Route 302 towards the towns of Wells River and Woodsville, and towards the New Hampshire border (to your east). Cross into New Hampshire and follow Route 302 for about 14-16 miles or so. You will pass through the small towns of Bath and Lisbon. After you have pass through Lisbon (if you blink you might miss it!), you will shortly pass Route 117 on your right. About 1/4 of a mile after you pass 117, take a left on Lyman Road and follow it for about 3 miles. After you pass Quebec Road (on your left), a big open field (just after Quebec Road), and a small, old graveyard, you will come down a hill, at the base of the hill is a small, fork/turn, which is Ogontz Road, follow it into camp and you are there! Follow Route ME-9 until you come to U.S. Route 302/ME-100. Follow Route 302 North for about 100 miles through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Once you pass through the town of Littleton, and the Wal-Mart, about 8 miles later, take a right onto Lyman, Road (if you pass Route 117 on your left, you have gone too far!). Follow Lyman Road for about 3 miles. After you pass Quebec Road (on your left), a big open field (just after Quebec Road), and a small, old graveyard, you will come down a hill, at the base of the hill is a small, fork/turn, which is Ogontz Road, follow it into camp and you are there! If you see the Tinkerville General Store or Dodge Pond, you have gone to far on Lyman Road and have missed the fork/turn.

Transportation Information

Boston's Logan International Airport
Follow airport exit signs from your terminal to the Sumner Airport Exit Tunnel to Interstate 93 North. Follow Interstate 93 North directions from Boston above. 3 hour, 20 minute drive with light traffic.

Manchester (NH) Regional Airport
Follow Brown Avenue/NH Route 3A to Interstate I-293 North (there are signs). Take I-293 North towards Manchester/Concord. Merge onto Frederick Everett Turnpike which will become/merge with Interstate 93 North. Follow I-93 North into Northern New Hampshire and follow I-93 North directions from NH in the Boston directions. 2 hour drive with light traffic.

T.F. Green International Airport (Warwick, RI)
Follow airport exit signs to Interstate 95 North. Follow directions above from Providence, Rhode Island to get to camp. 4 hour drive with light traffic.

Portland International Jetport
start out going west on the Airport Access Road. Turn right onto Maine Route 9. Stay on Route 9 as it merges with Route 22. Go onto Stevens Avenue. Turn a slight left on Route 302/ME 100 and follow the directions from Portland above. 3 hour drive, lots of back roads.

Lebanon (NH) Municipal Airport, go west out of the Airport onto Airport Road towards NH Route 12A. Follow signs to I-89 North. After just under a mile, take exit for Interstate 91 North/White River Junction. Follow directions from VT on I-91 in the New Haven/Hartford/Western MA/Vermont directions above. 1 hour drive with most traffic.

 

By Bus
Concord Trailways has one bus per day from/to Boston Logan Airport and Manchester with a stop in Franconia. Vermont Transit has one bus per day from/to New York City that stops in Wells River, VT. You can connect with Vermont Transit in New York City or Springfield, MA from the nationwide Greyhound system. Amtrak stops in several western Vermont stations on rail lines that go through New York's Penn Station.
